Scrap The Girls May Challenge

Hi There!

Well I am just scraping in with this one! I had set aside a bunch of cool challenges to do at a crop day but unfortunately Me & the kids were hit with gastro so I couldn't go! We had a rough 4 days in the house but everyone is healthy now & we're all back to normal (ie. crazy, loud, busy) The quiet house was a nice change of pace while everyone was sick though!

I really wanted to have  a go at the Scrap The Girls challenge because the theme is Sisters & I had a perfect Sister moment photo I wanted to scrap! The requirement was to use this quote " Having a Sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do they'll still be there"

I have used a mix of alphas for the first part of the quote, & hand written the some (it is hard to see this in the big photo)

You can see some of the handwriting a bit better on this one. The Alphas stickers are Prima Songbird collection. The fabric alphas are also Prima. All the flowers are Prima too. I had a lovely big piece of lace left over from making my Brothers wedding invites which adds a nice girly touch.

The paper is a mix of Kaisercraft Miss Nelly (still luv this collection!) & MME Lost & found

I have added some Prima canvas resist pieces that I have kept simple & just misted
Not long until reveal day for My Creative Sketches! Make sure you pop back on the 5th for the reveal & details on the Prima contest!

My Creative Sketches May Challenge

Hi There!

Are you looking for a cool sketch to help boost your mojo?? Well My Creative Sketches has just gone live with the May challenge. The sketch is so easy to work with & so adaptable that I ended up creating 2 pages using this sketch!

The sketch was created by Tony Rangel inspired by a page created by Delaina Burns

For my first page I have used a mix of MME Lost & Found2 & Glitz Design Beautiful Dreamer. This is a pic of Kayla & Evie all dressed up to go to Kayla's 4th birthday ballet party last month!

The chippie is by 2crafty. I have painted this with gesso then some white acrylic paint. Then I added some glossy accents, while it was still wet I sprinkled some fine glimmer on. The gorgeous love heart trinket is by Prima

All of the gorgeous flowers are Prima. The butterfly sticker is from the Kaisercraft Bonjour collection

My secon page is using the Kaisercraft Miss Nelly collection. This cute pic is of Kayla & her twin friends Morgan & Quinn when we were on holidays at Hamilton Island at the start of the year

This quote is so sweet dont you think!

This is the awesome Random draw prize on offer

Entries are due 14th of June. I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for looking!

Thankyou to all of u that left a comment or became a new follower XX

I want to share my last post for Scrapz.Biz. I have had a great time on the DT & made some great friends there. Thankyou so much to Heike for having me. I had a great time on the DT with an awesome bunch of girls. Thanks Sheree, Chloe, Aga & Nati for all your support & making the DT so friendly & fun to be on.

I am VERY fortunate & excited to have been offered a new DT position which meant leaving Scrapz.Biz. I am so excited & busting to tell you all....... but I can't just yet (soon though YAY!)

Anyway here is my last 3 projects that I did for Baby Month.

This was using Prima Meadow Lark. I entered this page for the April Prima BAP. *** FYI this is NOT a new Ultrasound Pic LOL. This is Evie.
The canvas mini banners were fun to alter with some chalk ink in a blue & purple

I also made a Baby Mobile. These photos are not the best sorry. I found it really hard to photograph to show any detail. Here is a quick tutorial on how to make this mobile

-To start off I cut X2 pieces of 12"X1" strips of card (not just cardstock you will need something thicker)
- Cover both sides of the card with paper
- Use a staple to staple the 2 lengths together on each end so it forms a circle
- Reinforce both of the joins with 1"X4" card covered with matching paper that is inside your circle. Just use your tape to stick down card piece straight over the join (If you want a more sturdy circle you could use something like an embroidery hoop as your base instead
- Cut X4 lengths of ribbon or trim exactly the same length. I used 10" lengths. It is easier to use ribbon or trim that is a little bit thicker
- Staple each length evenly around your circle
- Cut 1 length of ribbon approx 30"
- Place this length in the centre of your circle. Tie the 4 lengths of ribbon you have already stapled to the centre piece of ribbon. Leave approx 10" of length to hang your mobile from. The 4 lengths will now look like a pyramid
- Cut/punch 56 butterflies (or whichever shape you have chosen). Mix & match co ordinating patterns
- Roughly fold each butterfly in half so that it looks more 3 dimensional
- Stick 2 butterflies back to back with the same pattern facing out. adjust butterfly wings so that the butterfly is now completely 3 dimensional
- Continue to stick 5 butterflies per ribbon for the 4 outer lengths & 8 butterflies for the centre length
- Cut your ribbon off under the last butterfly to tidy it up
-Decorate the outside of your circle as desired. I have used some lace & bloomers
- Cover the ribbon where youo have tied the 4 lengths to the centre piece. I have used a flower
I have used paper from the Girls Paperie, Websters Pages Bloomer, Cuttlebug butterfly die & crinkle ribbon

I made another easel card (I still need to post a tutorial for that shortly!)

Easel cards are a new fav of mine at the moment. They are so cute! I have used Cardstock as a base & decorated with Pink  Paislee London Market paper, ephemera & spool button. The cute bow is from Jenni Bowlin

Well thats all for now.
